Main Switchboards
Mid Coast Switchboards can fabricate and fit custom-built enclosures for CT (current transformer) metering, whole current and multiple metering requirements. These can be built to accommodate indoor and outdoor requirements.
Motor Control Centres
Big or small, motor control systems are one of Mid Coast Switchboards’ strong capabilities. Whether you require PLC (programmable logic controllers), DOL (direct on line), soft starters or VSD (variable speed drive), we can assist.
Pump Stations
One of Mid Coast Switchboards’ specialities is the building of water and sewer pump station boards, whether it is for a 1.5kW private development or 150kW council requirement. At times, these boards may require sunhoods, heat shields, vandal proof locking systems, or a high plinth, all of which we can provide.
Custom Distribution Boards
Mid Coast Switchboards can fabricate and fit custom-built distribution boards to accommodate basic buscomb systems through to high current chassis requirements. We consider all things in the building of our distribution boards including site location, board access, cable entry and the size of submains.
PLC Control Systems
Mid Coast Switchboards can fabricate and fit custom-built console, control panels and PLC sections. With good documentation from engineers and customers we can build just about any control and PLC module.
Mechanical Service Switchboards
Mid Coast Switchboards can build mechanical service switchboards or mechanical control centres. We provide both proprietary and custom-built enclosure options and provide all the controls.

Mild & Stainless-steel Enclosures
We pride ourselves on employing qualified sheet metal fabricators who know how to work mild and stainless steel into any enclosure requirement you may have. -
Powder Coating
We offer powder coating on all our boards, whether stainless or mild. Our preferred powder coater will undercoat then powder coat any mainstream colour the customer may require. -
Galvanised Plinth & Bases
We custom-build inhouse all our bases whether a ‘C’ channel base 75 millimetres or 100 millimetres, and high black steel based with access panels for cable reticulation at low level. All steel bases are hot dipped galvanised. -
Design
Often we get switchboards that are simple mud maps on the back of notepad and incomplete. We offer inhouse design to complete design and seek necessary authority approval. -
Engraving & Wire Numbers
We keep these services inhouse to keep cost and lead times down, particular when changes are made at the last minute.

Do you submit applications to authority for approval?
Yes, when required. This is included as part of our process.
Do you provide workshops drawings?
Yes, this is standard for all jobs.
Do you deliver to the site?
Yes, we deliver to the site with all jobs. However, the client is required to provide a crane or forklift when required to unload their deliveries.
Do you provide type tested switchboards?
For our custom-built switchboards, we only offer partially type tested boards. However, we can build modular switchboards that are fully type tested.
